About This Site

Knox County Busted Mugshots is a private records guide for people trying to understand where an official booking image, custody listing, or court result may be found in Knox County, Tennessee. We gather public paths in one place, explain their limits, and link readers back to the office that maintains the information. This site does not display booking-photo galleries or keep a roster of its own.

Why This Guide Exists

Booking information can be public while still being difficult to interpret. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office publishes both a 24-hour custody view and a current inmate population page. Neither page is a complete historical arrest archive. A listing may reflect ongoing custody, a hold, a transfer, or another document event. A charge at booking is an allegation, and the final outcome belongs in the court record.

Our role is to explain the official route. KCSO is the local source for county custody information and agency-published booking images. The Knox County Criminal Court Clerk maintains court dates, dockets, and disposition records. The Tennessee Department of Correction FOIL search is a different tool for people currently or formerly in TDOC custody or supervision. We host none of those records or images.

What Readers Can Find

The main guide keeps the county’s official lookup paths together and separates current custody from court history and state-prison information.

  • A plain-language path through the KCSO recent-custody and inmate-population pages.
  • Guidance on seeking a narrowly identified booking record or photo from the responsible public office.
  • Links to the county court source, Tennessee correctional search, and release-notification resources.
  • Knoxville and Farragut pages that explain the different local law-enforcement context without treating the county roster as a citywide arrest archive.
  • A Most Wanted guide that directs warrant questions to the official source, and a Crime News & Mugshots guide that distinguishes reporting from a custody record.

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately operated reference site. It is not connected to KCSO, a Tennessee government office, a jail, a corrections department, or a court. We cannot release, hold, transfer, locate, or confirm the status of a person in custody, and we cannot give legal advice or act for a reader before any public office.

  • We cannot post a bond, schedule a visit, or send funds for anyone.
  • We cannot retrieve an official booking file, police report, or court document on a reader’s behalf.
  • We cannot decide what a charge means or whether a case has reached a final disposition.
  • We cannot alter, remove, or verify an agency’s own record.

Only the responsible agency or court can confirm current custody, a release, charges, or a case outcome. A booking entry is not proof of guilt, and every person is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Search Partner Disclosure

Some pages include search boxes operated by independent providers. Those providers set their own prices, terms, results, and data practices. If a reader chooses a paid partner service after using one of those tools, this site may receive a referral fee that helps support free access to the guide. A referral relationship does not give us control over a partner’s results or billing.
