Information You Provide
Search entries
A name, location, or other term entered into a third-party search tool is sent to the provider that operates that tool. We do not store or log those search terms on our side. The provider’s own privacy practices apply to its processing of the query.
Messages you send
If you send an email or a message through a site contact method, we may retain the information in it so that we can respond or keep a record of the exchange. We do not share those messages outside our organization unless a valid legal requirement calls for disclosure.
Technical Data and Cookies
Like most websites, we may receive routine technical information when a page loads. This information helps operate the site, measure performance, and diagnose errors.
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on a page
- Referring website, if one is supplied
- Date and time of the visit
Cookies
Cookies and similar technologies can help us understand how visitors use the site. A browser may be set to reject or remove cookies, but some features may then work differently. Any advertising or analytics provider may also use its own technologies under its own policy.
How Site Data Is Used
- To maintain, secure, and improve site operation.
- To send a search request to the provider selected by the visitor.
- To understand which pages are useful to readers.
- To identify and correct technical problems.
- To show advertising that may be based on interests.
External Websites
This guide links to official resources such as the KCSO custody view, the KCSO inmate page, the Criminal Court Clerk, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s privacy policy and data practices control. This site does not control those sites.
Advertising partners may collect activity across sites on their own systems to deliver interest-based advertising. Their data practices are separate from this private site’s practices. Government public-record rules are likewise separate; the Tennessee Public Records Act FAQ explains the state’s official process.
Who May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be shared with the following recipients when needed for the stated purpose:
- Search partners that process a visitor’s query.
- Analytics providers that help assess site use.
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure advertising.
- Law enforcement or government authorities when a valid legal order requires it.
Security Practices
We use reasonable safeguards intended to protect the information we handle. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security, however, and we cannot promise that a transmission or stored record will never be accessed, altered, or lost.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted personal information, a parent or guardian may ask us to remove it. Tennessee treats juvenile photographs and fingerprints as confidential in specified circumstances, and this site does not host them.
Your Information Choices
- You may ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you.
- You may ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
- You may ask us to erase information, subject to any legal need to retain it.
- You may request to opt out of certain processing where that option applies.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as site practices change. A revised version will appear on this page with an updated effective date. Continuing to use the site after the revised notice is posted means the visitor accepts the updated practices.
